Philosophy:

  • Quality assurance is a continuous process aimed at enhancing internal quality and improving the Institute’s standing at both national and international levels.

Vision: By 2030, PTIT aims to become:

  • a national key university in information and communications technology,
  • one of the leading high-quality universities in Vietnam,
  • ranked among the Top 100 universities in Asia,
  • and among the Top 5 universities in Southeast Asia in digital technology.

General Objectives:

  • To foster a strong quality culture across PTIT’s activities in education, scientific research, technology transfer, and community engagement.
  • To apply international accreditation standards to flagship and high-potential academic programmes with strong international integration.
  • To achieve key quality assurance indicators comparable to leading Southeast Asian universities in digital technology.

Structure of the Internal Quality Assurance System:

1. PTIT Quality Assurance Council

a) Role

The PTIT Quality Assurance Council serves as an advisory body to the Institute’s leadership on strategies, policies, plans, and overall quality assurance activities.

b) Composition

The Council includes representatives from:

  • PTIT Board of Directors
  • Administrative departments
  • Faculties and schools
  • Academic staff
  • Students
  • Alumni
  • Industry representatives (when necessary)

c) Operations

  • The Council convenes periodically every six months at the beginning of each semester, or on an ad hoc basis when necessary.
  • The Council issues resolutions and recommendations and monitors their implementation.

2. Functional Units for Educational Quality Assurance

a) Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assurance

The Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assurance serves as the specialized unit responsible for advising, organizing, implementing, and managing quality assurance activities at PTIT.

b) Specialized Subcommittees

Specialized subcommittees or working groups may be established in specific areas such as:

  • Academic programmes
  • Scientific research
  • Community services

3. Quality Assurance Units within Functional and Academic Units

(Departments, Faculties, Schools, and Centers)

a) Establishment of QA Teams

Each unit establishes its own Quality Assurance (QA) Team to support:

  • self-assessment activities,
  • evidence management,
  • and continuous improvement at the unit level.

b) Stakeholder Participation

QA Teams within academic units must include representatives from:

  • industry partners,
  • and/or alumni,

with a minimum participation rate as required by regulations (at least 10% of total members).

c) Responsibilities

QA Teams are responsible for:

  • coordinating QA activities,
  • collecting and maintaining evidence,
  • reporting QA results to the PTIT Quality Assurance Council through the Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assurance.

The QA system structure must be clearly described using a RACI framework to define responsibilities and avoid overlap or omissions.

d) Supporting Unit Leadership

QA Teams support heads of units in implementing educational quality assurance activities within their respective units.

e) Evidence Management and IMS Integration

QA Teams at all levels are required to:

  • record,
  • store,
  • and report evidence

using standardized formats integrated with the Information Management System (IMS) for quality assurance management.
